Albany, NY (WRGB) — Ahold Delhaize USA Services, LLC has provided an update on a cybersecurity breach that occurred last year, affecting several of its U.S. business systems one being Hannaford Supermarket. The breach, detected on November 6, 2024, involved unauthorized access to internal files, prompting an immediate investigation with the help of external cybersecurity experts and U.S. federal law enforcement.
The investigation revealed that an unauthorized third party accessed and obtained files from the company’s internal U.S. file repositories between November 5 and 6, 2024. These files contained personal information of certain current and former employees, their dependents, beneficiaries, and others associated with Ahold Delhaize USA companies, including Hannaford, Food Lion, Giant Food, and others.
