STANFORD — A 41-year-old Niskayuna man was charged with possessing over three pounds of cocaine after troopers stopped him Monday on the Taconic State Parkway, State Police said.
Troopers said they stopped man’s Ford sedan, which was heading north on the parkway in the town of Stanford, for tinted windows and unsafe lane change. After he was stopped, a police dog alerted troopers to the presence of narcotics. Police allegedly found 1,436 grams of cocaine in the man’s trunk.
The suspect, the sole occupant of the car, attempted to run away but was stopped by troopers and arrested for first and third-degree felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor obstruction of governmental administration, troopers said.
