ALBANY — Following a five-year design process, construction of the Washington Park playground has begun and the revamped space is expected to reopen in the fall with updated equipment and safety features.
The playground area, located in the northeast corner of the park, contained outdated and unsafe equipment, according to city officials and the Washington Park Conservancy, a nonprofit that works with the city to preserve the park.
