A 13-year-old boy was arrested last week for threatening someone with a handgun. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon. This incident is now the 4th act of teenage violence in the past 16 days.
It began on June 12th when a 14-year-old girl was charged with attempted murder for trying to stab another girl during a fight. Hours later, Watervliet police officers broke up a large group fight in Clinton Park. That same night, a confrontation at a McDonalds resulted in one teen being charged with assault on a police officer. This recent act of violence has left residents concerned.
