Hot Dog Charlie’s announces reopening after 2024 fire

COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) — In January 2024, Hot Dog Charlie’s in Cohoes shut its doors after a fire gutted the restaurant. The restaurant announced on Friday that it will reopen on July 7.

Hot Dog Charlie’s in Cohoes opened in 1964 and has been in the Capital Region for over 100 years. The reopening announcement was in a social media post early Friday morning.

At the time of the fire, the owner told NEWS10 that the business is in its third generation, started by his grandfather. There are two other Hot Dog Charlie’s locations in Rensselaer, on Columbia Turnpike, and in Lansingburgh on 5th Avenue.
