Schenectady eatery closes, Mediterranean spot moving in
MAC & RONI, located at 183 Nott Terrace in Schenectady, appears to have closed after a year in business. A Mediterranean and Afghan Fusion restaurant is now opening in that space.
Broad Street Bagel Co. opens doors in Slingerlands
Broad Street Bagel Company held a soft opening at its new Slingerlands location on Monday. It marks the company’s third storefront in the Capital Region.
Take a Bite returning to downtown Glens Falls in July
A summer staple is returning to downtown Glens Falls this July. Take a Bite 2025 is set to take place on Wednesdays from July 9 to August 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Pint Sized bar to move locations in Saratoga Springs
Dive is moving its Pint Sized Saratoga bar to Phila Street. According to owners, the new space will allow for new drinks, events and more space for customers.
Korean barbecue, hot pot chain coming to Colonie Center
A national Korean barbecue and hot pot chain will be setting up shop in the Capital Region soon. KPOT is expected to open in Colonie Center in mid-2026.
Coffee shop moving Colonie location to Albany
Stacks Espresso Bar is moving its Colonie location in the Pioneer Bank building to State Street in Albany. Stacks CEO Susan Dunckel said the Colonie shop closed on Friday, June 27.
Saratoga Springs donut shop named among best in country
Darling Doughnuts in Saratoga Springs has done it again; it was named fourth best donut shop in the country in USA Today’s 2025 10 Best. Last year, the donut shop was named seventh best in the country.
Catskill bar touted as one of country’s best by Esquire
A bar in Catskill has been named as one of the 15 best bars in the country by Esquire magazine. Hemlock, located on Main Street, was praised for its character.
Ballston Spa-area restaurant closing after 23 years
Abeel’s Restaurant is closing its doors after 23 years in business in Milton. The owners made the announcement on the Abeel’s Facebook page on June 28.
New Pakistani restaurant opens in Troy
Naan Kebab had its grand opening in Troy on June 27. The new restaurant is located in Hudson River Commons.
Hudson Falls barbecue joint to close after 15 years in business
Backstreet BBQ in Hudson Falls will be closing its doors at the end of the month. The restaurant, located 35 John Street, made the announcement on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
Restaurant getting ready to reopen in old Fort Edward bank
The owners of Grumbellies, Jeff and Irma Hamblin, are getting ready to reopen their restaurant after almost a year. This time, the eatery will be located in the old Glens Falls National Bank at 159 Broadway in Fort Edward.
Saratoga Springs BBQ joint officially closes its doors
After months of speculation, the owners of PJ’s BAR-B-QSA in Saratoga Springs have announced that the restaurant is officially closed for good. Owners PJ and Carolyn Davis made the announcement on the barbecue joint’s Facebook page on July 4.
Hot Dog Charlie’s in Cohoes reopening after fire
In January 2024, Hot Dog Charlie’s in Cohoes shut its doors after a fire gutted the restaurant. The restaurant announced on Friday that it will reopen on July 7.
