NORTH COLONIE, NY (WRGB) — A volunteer fire department in North Colonie battled a landfill fire early Saturday morning.
Around 5:35 a.m., the Boght Community Fire District was dispatched to the town landfill on Arrowhead Lane; there crews found a large active section of the landfill burning. The fire was deep-seated underground, according to a social media post from the volunteer department.
