COLONIE — Two crashes in Colonie, one on Central Avenue and another on Wolf Road, prompted some lane closures on Wednesday evening, slowing traffic in the area. Hundreds of customers have also lost power in the area, according to National Grid.
The crash on Central Avenue, combined with a downed pole and wires, caused westbound lane closures on Central Avenue and the closure of the Northway off-ramp at Exit 2W just before 6 p.m., according to the state Department of Transportation’s 511 traffic system. More than 500 customers in the immediate area lost power around 6:38 p.m., according to National Grid’s outage map. The power was expected to be restored by 10:15 p.m.
The crash on Wolf Road, reported just before 8 p.m., closed a portion of all lanes between Colonie Center and Central Avenue, according to the 511 system…
