Albany man pleads guilty to illegal firearm use in two separate shootings

Albany, NY (WRGB) — A 24-year-old Joshua McKoy from Albany has pleaded guilty to using an illegal firearm in two separate shootings, according to Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon. McKoy admitted to two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree before the Honorable Andra Ackerman.

McKoy was arrested by Albany Police following an investigation that linked him to two incidents last year. On November 4, 2024, McKoy fired multiple rounds in the area of Madison Avenue and Ontario Street after a dispute, though no injuries were reported.

A second shooting occurred on December 9, 2024, when McKoy discharged a handgun near Delaware Avenue and Marshall Street, shattering a window of Albany Fire Department Engine 9. Several firefighters were inside at the time, but police believe the firehouse was not the intended target…
