SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WRGB) — The Schenectady Police Department expressed gratitude to the community for attending the Schenectady County Summer Night last Friday, which attracted an estimated 20,000 people to downtown Schenectady. Families and friends enjoyed live music, children’s activities, food, and a fireworks display, but the night didn’t go off without incident.
Police report one arrest Friday involving a teenaged boy. Officers reported the individual acting suspiciously through both direct observation and surveillance. When approached by police the teen reportedly refused to cooperate and was arrested. He was later found to be in possession of an imitation firearm.
