Schenectady bar owner launches $3 draft

A new, locally brewed beer launched in Schenectady on Monday. Tommy Nicchi, who owns The Broken Inn, The Horses Lounge, and The Parlor at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course, launched Electric City Light with the beer being produced at Seven Points Brewery.

Hot Dog Charlie’s in Cohoes reopens after fire

Hot Dog Charlie’s in Cohoes had it’s grand reopening after being destroyed by a fire in January 2024. The Cohoes location opened about 40 years later in the early 1960’s. But that legacy almost ended when a fire destroyed the Cohoes location.

Chatham Brewing brings back Phish inspired brew

In October, Chatham Brewing launched its “Play It Leo” India Pale Ale to celebrate Phish performing at the MVP Arena. In honor of Phish returning to SPAC July 25 through 27, the beer is returning also.

Mallozzi Family named food provider at M&T Bank Center

The Mallozzi Family has been named the food and drink provider at the M&T Bank Center alongside Victory Concessions. According to an announcement by the Galesi Group, the Mallozzi Family will cater all events at the new venue.

Coffee chain sets opening for new location in Schenectady

7 Brew Coffee, an Arkansas-based drive-thru coffee chain, is opening up a new location is Schenectady. According to a press person for 7 Brew Coffee, the Schenectady shop is having its soft opening on July 28.

Off the Beaten Path: Gipfel Coffee Company

Founded in 2019, there’s a story behind every ‘cup of joe’ brewed at Gipfel Coffee Company. The coffee shop is attached to the Sand Lake Merchant on Route 43.

Troy Italian bakery added to NYS historic business registry

Bella Napoli Bakery was inducted into the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry on Tuesday. The Italian bake shop has been a staple in the Capital Region for over 65 years.

Rotterdam pizzeria reopens 7 months after temporary closure

Lucia’s Two Go, located at 404 Princetown Road, has reopened in Rotterdam. The pizzeria officially opened for its first day back on Tuesday, July 15.

Coffee shop owners opening wine bar in Albany

The owners of Jacob Alejandro and JA. Pequeño are opening up a natural wine bar in Albany. JAJA will be opening in the former Downtube Bicycle Works space at 466 Madison Avenue.

Malta restaurant closes, sold to new owners

Dunning Street Station, located at 2853 Route 9 in Malta, has closed after 10 years in business. Owners Bob McKenna and Scott Ringwood made the announcement on the restaurant’s Facebook page on July 17.
