Colonie man sentenced to prison for having gun, meth during stop

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A Colonie man will serve time in prison after admitting to having a handgun and methamphetamine back in July 2024, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office announced. Hardeep Singh, 53, was sentenced to five years in prison.

Singh was arrested last year after officers responded to Schuyler Lane after receiving reports of suspicious activity. While being interviewed by officers, Singh was allegedly found to have a loaded .38 caliber handgun and 25 grams of meth with him. According to police, he did not have a permit for the weapon.

He was then taken into custody and was charged with criminal possession of meth with intent to sell and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He later pleaded guilty.

According to the DA’s office, he was also sentenced to a three-year probation term after his release…
