Killer sent to prison for murder of Schenectady mother of 2

SCHENECTADY — A man who lost his bid to take back his guilty plea in the shooting death of his live-in girlfriend was sentenced this week to 20 years to life in prison for killing the mother of two young children inside their Mont Pleasant apartment in 2023, lawyers involved with the case said.

That is the penalty that Bernard Alexander agreed to when he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in February for killing Philomen “Toy-Toy” Henry, 30.  If convicted at trial, he could have faced 25 years to life on the charge.  He had also faced gun charges.
