Jennifer Saunders named first woman director of New York State Museum

ALBANY — For the first time in its nearly 200-year history, the New York State Museum will be led by a woman. The State Board of Regents and Education Commissioner Dr. Betty A. Rosa announced the appointment of Jennifer Saunders as director of the museum following a national search.

Saunders joins the institution with more than two decades of museum leadership experience, most recently as director of the Washington State Historical Society and the Washington State History Museum.
