Hudson church declares themselves a sanctuary parish for all

HUDSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — With ICE operations ramping up across the country Christ Church Episcopal in Hudson has declared itself a sanctuary parish for all people regardless of immigration status.

Father William Lytle believes being a sanctuary parish is more than just making a statement. It’s about helping and showing compassion to your neighbors whose lives feel under threat.

“Now is the time to make a public statement of being willing to support our neighbors in this way,” said Father Lytle.

This sanctuary isn’t a place where people can stay overnight, but more of a place where people can come and talk to a community that understands each other and not feel so isolated during this time.
