TROY — A city councilman plans to resign from the Troy Local Development Corporation board in an effort to vote on matters related to the not-for-profit’s involvement in a pending City Hall lease deal without raising questions of a conflict of interest.
Republican Majority Leader Tom Casey on Friday reached the decision only hours after initially telling the Times Union that he would confer with acting Corporation Counsel Richard Morrissey on voting ethics when legislation regarding the proposed City Hall site at the old Proctor’s Theater arose.
The subject was prompted by Casey’s Democratic opponent in District 6, Greg Campbell-Cohen, who suggested that the city’s Ethics Commission should be consulted before action is taken on LDC matters…
