Albany Med to announce emergency department expansion

ALBANY — Albany Medical Center is undertaking a $25 million expansion of its adult emergency department, as it responds growing patient volumes and some of the longest ER visit times in the nation in its current facility.

The 7,000-square-foot project, which is pending state approval, will increase the emergency department’s footprint by 20 to 25 percent.
