The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
Hang in there! High pressure keeps us bright and sunny, so it’s another scorcher today – but much better weather is on the way in just a couple days time!
Temperatures themselves surge into the low 90’s for the valleys today. With humidity factored in, many in the Capital District will feel more like the upper 90’s!
A heat advisory is in effect for the highlighted areas below through 8 PM tonight, where your risk for heat related illness is greatest.
Tomorrow is another warm one, with morning lows in the 60’s and afternoon highs in the upper 80’s to near 90. Humidity again makes it feel even warmer.
There may be some relief from the heat late in the afternoon with some pop up showers and thunderstorms – but a couple of those storms could also be on the stronger side, especially south and east of Albany. Heavy rain could lead to ponding and pooling of water on the roads, and hail and gusty winds are not out of the question either.
The back side of this incoming storm system will bring clouds and showers for much of the day Thursday, but it will be much cooler and far less humid.
Clearing skies on Friday will set up a spectacular stretch of weather for the second half of the forecast period. Feeling very refreshing with highs in the 70’s for both Friday and Saturday. Even with temperatures back in the 80’s on Sunday and Monday, humidity stays low making for some very comfortable warmth…
