La Serre was founded in 1977 by Anne and Geoffrey Trimble as a fine dining restaurant and was known for hosting political figures including New York Governors Hugh Carey, Mario Cuomo, George Pataki, and Andrew Cuomo. “This is going to be the most important political and social venue north of Manhattan,” said Shapiro. “We’re bringing back the old-school power — but with a modern twist: young, trendsetting, high-end, and unapologetically political.”
