Albany woman indicted on attempted murder, assault charges

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– An Albany woman has been arraigned on a three-count indictment following a stabbing incident. According to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office, 38-year-old Kinyetta Gordon, pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Gordon was arrested Saturday after a reported stabbing on Lexington Avenue. According to Albany Police, officers responded to Albany Memorial Hospital after a 36-year-old woman walked-in with stab wounds. Officers said she was found with “significant” stab wounds to her neck and back area, before being taken to Albany Medical Center, where she was listed in critical but stable condition.

Officers said Gordon was found at Albany Medical Center, where she was receiving treatment for a cut on her hand. A preliminary investigation determined she and the victim were in a reported verbal altercation which became violent.

A second victim was reportedly cut when trying to break up the fight. The DA’s Office said the victims are currently recovering from their injuries.
