BALLSON SPA — A 52-year-old Milton man was arrested on 55 counts of animal cruelty after Saratoga County Sheriff deputies allegedly found 54 golden retrievers and one Chihuahua in what they called “deplorable conditions” at his home.
Deputies were called to the Paisley Road home on July 7 to do a welfare check. Deputies said when they arrived, they discovered that the man had allowed the dogs to “be unjustifiably injured.” Thus, deputies charged him with 55 counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals, a misdemeanor.Deputies said the animals were allegedly encrusted with dog feces and urine. Images from the Sheriff’s deputies also show there was a litter of puppies found.
All of the dogs and puppies were voluntarily surrendered to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, where they were evaluated and provided appropriate treatment…
