New York cannabis dispensaries face compliance crisis after state error

Albany, N.Y. (WRGB) — SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — A miscalculation by New York State has left over 150 cannabis dispensaries and applicants in a precarious position, as they find themselves out of compliance with state law. The error, which involves proximity calculations to schools and houses of worship, has blindsided many business owners, including Danny Taylor, owner of The People’s Joint in Schenectady.

“We definitely in limbo,” said Taylor, who opened his dispensary on State Street with full state approval.
