Albany 16-year-old indicted for attempted murder

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Albany County District Attorney’s Office announced that a 16-year-old was indicted in connection to a shots fired incident in Washington Park. The teen, whose name was not released due to their age, is facing multiple felony charges.

The minor is accused of shooting several rounds from a firearm at a group of people in the Albany park on July 26. No injuries were reported in the incident, according to Albany Police.

The 16-year-old was arraigned before Judge Andra Ackerman on Wednesday on the charges of attempted murder, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree reckless endangerment. The teen pleaded not guilty to all charges and was ordered to be held at the Capital District Juvenile Secure Detention Center ahead of further court proceedings.
