6 arrested after several firearms recovered in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Six Albany residents were arrested following an investigation and the execution of several search warrants. The Albany Police Department made the arrests with assisting agencies after recovering several firearms during the searches.

Charges

Omari Lounds, 19

  • Three counts of criminal possession of a firearm
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property

Zafarie Tarver, 20

  • Three counts of criminal possession of a firearm
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property

Christopher Cancer, 22

  • Five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property

Demani Carrion, 20

  • Criminal possession of a firearm
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon

Keylonne Williams, 20

  • Criminal possession of a firearm
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

Marshall Gause, 19

  • Criminal possession of a weapon

Lounds, Tarver, and Cancer were arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a home on Watervliet Avenue. Albany Police reported finding a loaded .22 caliber revolver, a loaded nine millimeter handgun reported stolen out of Florida, and a loaded .22 caliber handgun reported stolen out of North Carolina.

Carrion and Williams were arrested after the execution of a search warrant on Lexington Avenue. Police said they found a loaded revolver, a defaced 12 gauge shotgun, and crack cocaine. Lounds, Tarver, Cancer, Carrion, and Williams were all remanded to the Albany County Jail after arraignment.

Police also found a 12 gauge shotgun at a home on Thornton Street and an AK style pistol at a home on First Avenue in Watervliet. Gause was arrested by the Watervliet Police Department…
