Traffic stop on I-87 leads to arrest of Schenectady resident with 104 grams of cocaine

Plattekill, NY (WRGB) — On August 7, 2025, a routine traffic stop on I-87 led to the arrest of a Schenectady resident after a police K9 detected narcotics in the vehicle.

Members of the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit observed a 2011 BMW violating multiple New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws while traveling northbound. The driver, a 33-year-old male, and the front seat passenger, 54-year-old Keita Williams, both from Schenectady, were interviewed by troopers.

During the investigation, K9 Kell conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and alerted officers to the presence of narcotics. A search of Williams revealed approximately 104 grams of cocaine…
