Troy, NY (WRGB) — Mayor Carmella Mantello has declared a public emergency following a significant water main break affecting the area of 6th Avenue, 7th Avenue, and Douw Street. The declaration, made under Section C-40 of the City Charter, aims to mobilize all available city resources to address the situation, which includes multiple valve failures.
In the emergency declaration release, Mayor Mantello says,
Pursuant to Section C-40 of the City Charter, I hereby declare a public emergency to mobilize all available city resources as shall be required to address a Water Main Break in the area of 6th Avenue, 7th Avenue, and Douw Street which includes multiple valve failures.
