In April 2024, Breyette allegedly hit Kropf on Hudson Avenue in Albany around midnight while driving an illegal dirtbike and fled the scene. Kropf was severely injured, hospitalized for months, and at one point was in a medically induced coma.

Breytte was released from Albany County Jail in September on bond. According to Kropf’s father, Jim, Kropf is continuing to recover from the crash and is attending classes at UAlbany virtually this fall.
