Guatemalan man sentenced to prison for meth trafficking near Saratoga Race Course

Albany, NY (WRGB) — Nelson Moran, a 31-year-old Guatemalan citizen, was sentenced to 24 months in prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy. The sentence was announced by Acting United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III and Frank A. Tarentino III, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New York Division.

Moran had previously pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He admitted that on July 31, 2024, he delivered a package containing over 200 grams of methamphetamine to an individual in Saratoga Springs, New York, at the request of a co-conspirator. The delivery occurred near the Saratoga Race Course, where Moran was employed.
