SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The case against a Rotterdam woman charged in the death of her 24-year-old special needs daughter has been dropped. The Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office said the case dismissal comes after Amber Geier’s death earlier this week.

Geier was indicted on nine charges, including manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, grand larceny, and concealment of a human corpse was accused of collecting Skylar Petit’s disability benefits from the time of her death in February 2023 until her body was discovered five months later in July.
