Three arrested in Albany robbery investigation

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Albany Police arrested three people this week after an investigation into a robbery on Clinton Avenue. Nathan Fields, 37, Amazjee Glass, 19, and Nahshon Joseph, 31, all of Albany, are facing several charges.

On August 12 around 1:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery near Clinton Avenue near North Lake Avenue. Arriving officers spoke to a victim who stated that three men had allegedly approached him, threw him to the ground, and repeatedly punched him before running off with the 68-year-old man’s necklaces and two gold rings.

Police said that the victim was tended to at the scene for cuts to the hand and scrapes to the head and neck before being brought to Albany Memorial Hospital for additional treatment. On August 13, detectives stopped a car near Clinton and North Lake Avenues in connection to the ongoing investigation.

The vehicle’s two occupants, Fields and Glass, were both identified as two of the three suspects in the robbery and were taken into custody at the scene. Further investigation into the incident resulted in Albany Police executing a search warrant at a residence on Sheridan Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on August 14.

During the search, law enforcement located and seized two loaded handguns from the property, resulting in the arrest of two people who were in the home at the time, Joseph being among them. Fields, Glass, and Joseph now face the following charges:

  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon

Fields, Glass, and Joseph were all held at the Albany County Jail after being arraigned at Albany City Criminal Court on Thursday. The second person found at the Sheridan Avenue home, 29-year-old Ashley Latimer of Albany, was also taken into custody and charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
