Two times check fraud nabbed on warrant

SLINGERLANDS — A Schenectady man who attempted to cash a check at two local financial institutions in 2024 ended up with felony charges from both, but did not bother to show up for court.

According to reports, Bethlehem police responded to Broadview Credit Union last October for a report of a man attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Upon arrival, Michael Deberardinis, 35, was speaking with a teller while presenting the check. Police took him into custody at that point.

He was charged with possession of a forged instrument and grand larceny-fourth degree, both felonies…
