The incident occurred on August 5, the sheriff’s office said. As a deputy tried to place the minor into a patrol vehicle, the suspect allegedly tried to steal their gun from their holster. The minor also kicked the deputy in the leg, according to authorities.

The minor has been charged with second-degree attempted robbery and second-degree assault — both felonies. They were arraigned in the Youth Part of the Saratoga County Court and are being held in the Capital District Juvenile Secure Detention Facility pending further proceedings.
