ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The global authority in rating the nation’s education, U.S. News and World Report, has released the 2025 ranking of the best high schools in the Capital Region. Of 24,000 eligible schools, 18,000 made the list at the national, state, and local levels.

Student success on state-required assessments, graduation rates, and college readiness helped identify the 2025 ranking. U.S. News and World Report Managing Editor for Education LaMont Jones said both students and families need the data when it comes to making one of the most important decisions in their academic career.
“Our Best High Schools rankings provide the insights to help them identify schools that will prepare students for college success,” Jones said. “Access to information isn’t just helpful— it’s essential for planning a student’s future.”
