The United Tenants of Albany says they’re out of emergency rental assistance funding for the foreseeable future, as federal and local grant funding has run out.
They say the funding was tied to mass federal employee terminations, HUD cuts and pauses and federal program eliminations.
The organization says they’ve needed to use Albany County American Rescue Plan Act funding since January, distributing more than $400,000, impacting 270 households. That funding was supposed to last until 2026…
