Livingston Hills nurse charged with stealing narcotics medication from patients

LIVINGSTON — A registered nurse employed at a Columbia County nursing home and rehab center was arrested and charged with stealing controlled substances from residents.

The facility, Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, reported missing narcotic medications from its premises on July 26, which launched an investigation by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in coordination with the state Department of Health’s Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement, according to a release.

The investigation found that Edward Dwyer, 56, of Latham, a registered nurse employed at the facility, had “unlawfully taken possession” of controlled substances on multiple occasions without properly administering the medications to residents, State Police said…
