Tenant above Sun Spa 64 speaks about raid

WATERFORD, N.Y. (NEWS10) -One of seven locations Qingqin Xie, also known as Coco, was allegedly managing sex work is the Sun Spa 64. There’s an apartment above the business and the tenant told NEWS10’s Anthony Krolikowski that he was asleep when he heard what sounded like an earthquake on Wednesday morning.

“That’s when I heard, ‘State Police, FBI, search warrant.’ And you can hear a whole bunch of commotion, a lot of banging,” recalled Robert Venditti. What followed was a man and a woman being taken out the front door in handcuffs.

Venditti has been living above the spa since last November and said he quickly found out about this ‘open secret’. “The neighbors definitely clued us in when we moved in but it was definitely the men going in and out.”

He described these men entering in through the front door, which now has a red vacate order posted, and leaving through the back door and out from an alleyway. “In the months leading up to it, the police would be stationed right outside the back alleyway.”

Court documents state that the suspect, Coco, was advertising commercial sex online. Multiple witnesses were also interviewed, including men who paid for sexual acts and a woman who moved to the U.S. from China after responding to a massage therapist ad. She told investigators before accepting the job, Coco said that she could provide regular massage and sexual acts on customers…
