Albany — A major investment is coming to one of Albany’s safe spaces, something community advocates have been asking for, especially in recent weeks and months.
On Tuesday afternoon, NYS Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D) toured the Frank Chapman Memorial Institute and Swinburne Park alongside Albany Assemblymember Gabriella Romero (D), and Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan (D).
While there, Asm. Romero and Speaker Heastie announced a $1 million grant to upgrade the Frank Chapman Memorial Institute, with an additional $250,000 announced to help fund programing, including Hood’s House of Hoops, after school enrichment for children and Senior lunches…
