Push for stronger animal cruelty laws after multiple cases across the region

Investigators are working to uncover what led to the deaths of 21 dogs at Anastasia’s Acres Dog Boarding in Argyle. A case that has devastated pet owners and rattled the Capital Region.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the dogs were discovered dead inside the facility, with one surviving dog rushed to a clinic for treatment. Deputies said the owners of the business are cooperating, and a veterinarian and animal control officers were called to the scene. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
