A popular river circus troupe is sailing to the Capital Region and Hudson Valley for the first time this month to bring an assortment of free and thrilling acts to cities along the Erie Canal and Hudson River.
The Flotsam River Circus is made up of musicians and seasoned circus performers who ride on a homemade “ramshackle raft” and perform acts ranging from sword-swallowing, juggling, puppeteering, gymnastics, hair suspension and more.
The circus is scheduled to perform at Amsterdam’s Riverlink Park on Aug. 27, Schenectady’s Gateway Landing Park on Aug. 28, and Waterford’s Lock 2 Park on Aug. 29. The troupe will also perform at other locations around the Capital Region between Aug. 30-31…
