Albany, NY (WRGB) — Edmond Anadio, a 64-year-old resident of Gloversville, New York, was arrested on charges of fraudulently claiming disability benefits while employed full-time at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Albany. Authorities say that Anadio illegally obtained nearly $85,000 in benefits from 2021 to 2024 by falsely claiming a disability. He retired early from his position at the VA earlier this year.
Acting United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III announced the arrest alongside Amy Connelly, Special Agent in Charge of the Boston/New York Field Division of the Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General (SSA-OIG), and Christopher Algieri, Special Agent in Charge of the Northeast Field Office of the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of the Inspector General (VA-OIG).
The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Anadio and brought him to the federal courthouse in Albany, where he was arraigned before United States Magistrate Judge Paul J. Evangelista. Anadio was released pending further proceedings…
