Two women charged in separate incidents with deliberately setting fires at homes in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY — Two women have been charged in separate incidents where they are accused of deliberately setting fires to homes in the city’s Hamilton Hill neighborhood.

Alyssa Ballard, 34, was arrested and charged on Tuesday with second-degree arson, a felony, after she set a mattress ablaze in a bedroom on Oct. 12 at 779 Albany St., according to a news release from the Schenectady Fire Department.
