ALBANY — A Rensselaer County couple is suing the Eddy Village Green nursing facility after they obtained surveillance footage revealing an elderly family member was pushed to the ground by an employee and forced to lay on the floor for several minutes.
The February incident led to a displaced hip fracture and a decline in physical mobility for 79-year-old Sharon Wagoner, her daughter and son-in-law said. They are now suing the Cohoesfacility over the incident, which they blame for hiring the nursing assistant responsible for pushing Wagoner to the ground and failing to prevent her fall.
Troy residents Tony and Lisa Piscitella said since the incident, Wagoner’s physical and mental abilities have further deteriorated. A near-constant walker before her fall, Wagoner is now confined to a wheelchair and can’t move without the help of her daughter and son-in-law…
