Barbershop shooting suspects face new charge in Albany County Court

ALBANY — Two men charged in the May 2023 drive-by shooting that killed a man inside a Second Avenue barbershop were arraigned Friday in a superseding indictment just days before their trials began.

Samir Princeton, 21, and Dejoune Smith, 20, were arraigned before Albany County Court Judge William Little on a sixth charge that could send them to prison for the rest of their lives.

A third suspect, who was 15 at the time of the shooting, was arraigned Thursday in the Youth Part of Albany County Court. The Times Union is not identifying the suspect because of his age at the time of the alleged crime…
