Rotterdam man sentenced for secretly surveilling co-worker

ALBANY — A Rotterdam man has been sentenced to two to six years in prison for repeatedly filming a co-worker, including under her clothing, without her consent in 2023.

Joseph Munafo, 61, pled guilty in July to two felony counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office. He was sentenced in Albany County Court on Friday by Judge Roger McDonough.

Munafo was accused in a grand jury indictment earlier this year of using “an imaging device to surreptitiously view, broadcast, or record under the clothing being worn by a victim whose name is known to the grand jury.” The indictment accused Munafo of filming “the sexual or other intimate parts of such person.”…
