ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An Albany man pleaded guilty in federal court on Thursday to distributing fentanyl and intending to distribute cocaine. Tymell Cooks, 36, will be sentenced on January 6.

With this guilty plea, Cooks admitted to selling about 202 grams of fentanyl between January and June 2024. He also admitted to having approximately 69 grams of cocaine, a loaded Cobra Firearms Shadow 38 Special revolver, a loaded M&P Shield EZ 2.0 Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol, ammunition, $4,850 in cash, and body armor when law enforcement searched his home in June 2024.
Cooks faces a prison sentence from 10 years to life, a fine of up to $5 million and a supervised release term from four years to life.
