ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) — Councilman Owusu Anane celebrated the Albany Common Council’s approval of the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) ordinance, describing it as a “modest, balanced, and necessary step to address Albany’s growing housing crisis.”
The ordinance legalizes and regulates the construction of small, secondary units—commonly known as ADUs—on existing residential lots.
