ALBANY — Pizzeria Michelina, which endured a two-year development before opening in November 2023 in the former longtime home of Lou-Bea’s Pizza but never seemed to find a steady audience or business rhythm, is closed until further notice, according to a sign on the door at 376 Delaware Ave.
It says the closure is due to unspecified “current conditions,” but that the business “look(s) forward to reopening soon.”
Robert Meringolo, an antiques dealer and pizza aficionado who bought the property with partners Michael Johnson and Steven De Lorenzo, said Friday that a veteran Catskills chef from a restaurant family has agreed to buy and reopen the pizzeria.
