Silent killer sentenced to 20 years for Albany shooting

ALBANY — Leonardo Guzman had no words at his sentencing Friday in the death of DeWitt Miller.

The 35-year-old will serve 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter for shooting Miller, 30, in the groin on Jan. 30.

Acting state Supreme Court Justice Roger McDonough told Guzman that his responsibility for Miller’s death “cannot be wiped clean. It’s an act that obviously will have resounding effects on the victim’s family’s lives, and it needs to have a resounding effect on your life, for the rest of your life.”…
