The Little Red Schoolhouse was built in 1903 as a one-room schoolhouse. However, after 50 years of offering public education to the Clifton Park community, the schoolhouse closed in 1953. Combining 22 schools, the Shenendehowa Central School District was established.
A group of parents purchased the schoolhouse in 1960, becoming the Clifton Park Nursery School Cooperative Preschool. Still in operation today, the Little Red Schoolhouse is the only remaining building of the 22 schools that made up Shenendehowa CSD.
