WATERVLIET, N.Y. (WNYT) – For anyone who lives in Watervliet or drives through the city on a regular basis, you may have noticed the litter-free streets. What you may not have noticed are the self-motivated, community-minded volunteers who are behind it.
There are many people who get out of bed every morning, jump in the shower, get dressed, climb into the car, and head to work, chasing a paycheck.
Then there are Dawn Do and Michelle Orsi, who get up out of bed, get dressed, climb into their wheelchairs, and head to the streets without any possibility or expectation of getting paid for their hard work…
